How We Began ...
Like many cavy fanciers, our interest started with a very special pet American guinea pig. Our young boar. Mr. Chugs was given to Papaw by his granddaughter Korah as a birthday gift. He was the pet in Papaw's high school biology room. Of course, Mr. Chugs came home almost every weekend and after the long Christmas break I could not let him return to school. His vocal talents just stole my heart!
After reading just a bit about guinea pigs, I knew Chugs needed a cage mate. So onto the internet I went, and did I ever find some beautiful animals. Guinea pigs of this quality were not to be found in E'ville. So online I found Carmen and Chris of Fast Track Caviary. They were so helpful, guiding me to make good choices and giving me information that you just cannot get from just reading. Needless to say, our herd has grown since beginning just 2 years ago. We have recently retired and the only travel destinations seem to be about where the next piggie needs to go, and lining up our piggie sitter while we "travel"!In that time we have met other wonderful and caring cavy people and have been intrusted with beautiful piggies from their caviaries. Leigh of Debonaire Cavies has also been so kind and gracious with imparting her knowledge of raising these wonderful little animals. Thanks friends for giving guidance and comfort when times get a little harried with this venture. At present time we have, Himalayan peruvians and texels. So many beautiful piggies, but I must remember there are no vacancies at the inn and this downstairs maid is getting older!! J.P. Sullivan (kitty) and Mr. Meeps, our lap cats.

Through the year we met and befriended new piggie people. Elli and Bruce of King Arthur's Skinny Pigs are the most helpful and caring people we have met in a long time. We enjoyed our visit with them here in E'ville over Thanksgiving weeked. Elli and Bruce go way beyond for their piggie friends!
Looking forward to meeting new cavy people in 2011, and enjoying and keeping up with all our piggy friends who have guided us along through the past seven+ years!
February 21, 2011, sitting in my chair watching the Daytona 500! Recouping from a horrible cold. Hubby gone on his Harley to enjoy a well deserved ride with some friends. As usual he took over piggie duty while I have been down .
Looking forward to tomorrow when Elli will be in to visit before returning home to Georgia. As usual it is after a long haul for piggies and piggie people!!
